![]() ![]() ![]() I was hoping for more "management" and not quite as much "damage control" as it seems to be exclusively the latter. ![]() Just my early thoughts from a couple hours of play, but so far I find the game pretty irritating. I can make all the right moves in combat, but things are so utterly random and so completely stacked against the player that it almost seems like I have no real influence. I feel less like I'm playing the game and more like I'm watching it. I feel at most times like I'm riding a cart full of gunpowder just wondering idly when it's all going to randomly go off. There's no way to mitigate factors such as enemy critical hits (which come far too commonly if you ask me, and do absurd amounts of damage) which, at least in the early game, drop a character from nearly full health to deaths door, filling their stress bar, causing a crisis (which apparently they can pass? I have seen at least twenty "resolve is tested" events and it has never been anything but a negative effect) which then overloads everyon else's stress level. Particularly since the characters cause Dwarf Fortress style tantrum spirals, where when one character recieves stress it stresses everyone else out as well.Įven worse is that this comes at complete random. These are some of my early thoughts - specifically about stress.įor me there seems to be almost no point in trying to manage stress when stress gains are so numerically huge and incredibly common that it seems to be nearly impossible to get even through half of a dungeon without everyone maxing out. This was initially going to be a reply to another thread, but it got a lot longer so I thought I might as well not clog the other guy's thread with it. ![]()
